Skin-Prep prepares the skin for adhesives and provides a protective coating which seals out digestive juices and protects against the harmful effects of active enzymes, perspiration, and appliance adhesives. Upon application to intact skin, Skin-Prep forms a protective film that prepares the skin for the attachment of ostomy appliances, drainage tubes, external catheters, and adhesive dressings.
Skin-Prep helps to make adhesive removal less painful for patients by preserving proper skin integrity and preventing damage or injury during removal of tapes and films.
With Skin-Prep's thick formula, only one coat is needed to form a protective film. Skin-Prep applies easily, even on awkward areas such as elbows, knees, and heels, moves naturally with patients' skin, and will not crack or peel.
